Unforgettable ~ My Daddy

I can’t help it, I have to add another entry. I dedicate this to my dad.

I mentioned at my previous post that he already passed away. For the last 13 years, we always think and pray for him. I don’t see him that often in my dreams anymore, but he’s never forgotten. I think he is already in a much safer, peaceful place now that’s why.

I remember they, together with my mom, were away for a vacation in Dumaguete. Imagine they were away to have fun but it turned out the most unexpected way. My mom couldn’t tell to us what happened to dad straight over the phone. She asked my aunt to do it for her. She said, while crying, he had a heart attack and lost breath straight away. He was rushed to the hospital but really did not make it. His body was transferred from Dumaguete to Cebu where he lived. We all flew there to bid our last farewell.

We were always there every year for the past 5 years or so after the incident. But now, only if time permits.

I still remember how hard-working, responsible father he was. He’s a doctor, a dietitian. His clinic was just built inside our house. He doesn’t want to work in the hospital as he wants to stay close to us all the time. He was very generous not only to us but to everyone, even to his friends. He has this big heart that’s always open to reach out.

He must be happy and proud seeing his grand children. I always wish you are here to guide me through, but I know you are just there watching.

Next month, March 20th, marks his 13th anniversary. You are missed and we’ll see you soon.

Unforgettable – Disneyland

I was so eagerly waiting for Jake to come up with a theme for this week’s challenge. If you don’t know yet, I was away for awhile and detached to the blogging world for some reason (online gaming via my tablet). But, I am back! So, I am more than ecstatic to join back to every week’s challenges!

Unforgettable? Seems hard to choose from many unforgettable memories I have. From my first kiss, (yes, I still do remember that when I was 3 yrs old haha), when my school bus left me in Nursery, when I pooped inside the classroom in Grade 1 (that’s embarrassing), first love, wedding day, birth of my daughter, the passing of my dad… So many memories. But let me just share the recent memorable trip my family had in December 2012.

Some of you would not remember, my niece and nephew are here with us because their parents are working hard abroad. So, they came home last December for a visit. We were booked as early as June to go to Hong Kong. The reunion of their family makes it even more memorable.

I won’t elaborate much on the 4 day trip we had, but let me just share the highlight of our vacation. It was the “Disney in the Stars” that I will never forget ever. I know most of you are familiar with the fireworks display they have every night, but it’s my first time, our first time. We were patiently waiting and seated in front of the castle for an hour but it’s worth the wait. When finally it started, I had goose bumps all over my body, I almost cried but I controlled my emotions. I don’t want them to see my cry. Haha I am always a big fan of Disney and my childhood dream came true! That’s why I had the intense, exaggerated reaction. I know some of you can relate to me.

We took video of the show but I really don’t know how to upload it. I picked one via youtube which is EXACTLY the same as what we saw. If you have not been there, I encouraged you to watch it.

I love how the fireworks, music, lights and stories blend together. Alice in Wonderland is my favorite part.

I don’t know how it compares to the one’s in US. It must be that spectacular, too. I want to hear your Disneyland story please.

I really believe that there is still a kid inside us, inside our hearts.

Week before Valentines, my daughter gave us a card made by her tiny hand. I came home from work when she handed it to me with all smiles. My exhaustion and stress from work were all gone in just a snap.

I immediately took a photo of her happy, loving face!

I was teary eyed this time! She is really that thoughtful! This is the best present a parent could get!

I am forever thankful I have her as my daughter! 🙂

For that, she deserves a sweet kiss!

Very Inspiring and Shine On Award

Can’t believe it has been a month or so since my last post. Forgive me and I blame it on my tablet. I have been spending most of my time gaming and instagramming. LOL!

7 things about me? I think I have enumerated enough on my previous post but let me think of something new. Hmmm.

1. Remember I told once that I wanted to go to Boracay? Well, I am already booked this March and July so watch out for that.

2. I just purchased my domain earlier, http://www.miljoanne.com, yipeee! I will be back active again… I have a lot of catching up to do, huh?

3. I bought my tablet through my brother back in December when he came for a visit and up until now, I have not paid in full. Haha

4. I am obsessed with Forever 21!

5. I am pretty excited to celebrate my daughter’s 7th birthday in Nasugbu. It will be awesome beach party (well not really a party, it’ll just be the three of us).

6. Got a perfect attendance at work for the month of January. Hooray!

7. I miss all of you, really!
