Fund Raising for Jhaira Mae Villa

jhaira

Jhaira Mae Villa, my friend’s daughter was born with a heart enlargement and has a hole in it. In medical term, they call it Ventricular Septal Defect. They only found out about it after 3 years of her existence.

VSD is a hole in the wall separating the two lower chambers of the heart. In normal development, the wall between the chambers closes before the fetus is born, so that by birth, oxygen-rich blood is kept from mixing with the oxygen-poor blood. When the hole does not close, it may cause higher pressure in the heart or reduced oxygen to the body.

After 4 years of medical treatment, doctor advised that they need to undergo surgery.

In other words, I am deeply appealing for your support for my friend’s ( Jess Rodriguez Villa) daughter. The cost of the operation estimates to Php600k. She also needs continuous medical treatment after the operation. Jess is a single mother of 3 kids thus she is unable to shoulder the financial responsibility from the said operation.

She is currently seeking help from organizations such as Bantay Bata, PCSO and Philippine Heart Center. To date, she was given total approved donation for Php185k from Heart Center and PCSO and Php14,850 from friends.

The schedule of the operation will be announced later on. Hopefully, before the year ends. Jes can’t tell exactly when as it will depend on the funds on hand.

Still a long way to go and any financial help will be appreciated.

You may deposit through her account at BPI – Bank of the Philippine Islands
Account Name: Jessica Villa
Account Number: 0189159684

You may let us know through comments if you have sent money or you may remain anonymous.

Any clarifications, question, etc, you may get in touch with her through her account tagged above.

Ofcourse, more than the money, we also need your PRAYERS!

Please say a little prayer for our little warrior.

Thank you everyone in advance!

PS. Jessica is one of my closest friends in the office….

A WORD A WEEK CHALLENGE – HAT (Boracay)

Summer has finally begun in our side of the world. Last March 4-6, 2013, my friends and I went to Boracay. This small island by the way is located approximately 315 km (196 mi) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Boracay Island and its beaches have received awards from numerous travel publications and agencies. The island comprises the barangays of Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak municipality of Malay, province of Aklan. The island is administered by the Philippine Tourism Authority and the provincial government of Aklan. Apart from its white sand beaches, Boracay is also famous for being one of the world’s top destination for relaxation. It is also emerging among the top destinations for tranquility and nightlife. In 2012, Boracay was awarded as the best island in the world from the international travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

Beach trip is not complete without hats. I first picked out the brown one.

But the blue one best suits my attire.

My first time in the island and I find it so lovely. The sand is pure, white and powdery. No wonder a lot of tourists visit here.

There are a lot of activities to choose from. You can go diving, kite surfing, parasailing, helmet diving, banana boat and a lot more. We chose parasailing, island hopping and helmet diving.

My family and I just got off the plane, finally arrived safely back to Clark International Airport from Hong Kong. We were so looking forward to go home. It is so true that
